Meet Susan Adams
My education, training and experience has always been with the goal to support others in their path to greater self-awareness and better decision making. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), and a certified Vedic educator in Ayurveda Perfect Health, Primordial Sound Meditation and the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga. In 2000, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. I had internships in mental health and substance abuse facilities and continued working in clinics, schools, prisons and substance abuse facilities. I began to really see how individuals learn to survive in their environments and in their relationships.
In 2003, I began a spiritual journey and began a meditation practice. My clinical training introduced me to Marsha Linehan and her approach to healing through DBT Life Skills. It was through her teachings that I began to understand the importance of bringing the practice of mindfulness to everyday life. That experience then led me to the Chopra Center, where I experienced the teachings of deeper states of awareness through meditation and yoga. I have spent the last two decades exploring many theories, models, and philosophies to best help people heal and grow. So here I am, always learning, growing, and radically accepting.

The journey of self-discovery can be an astonishing, delightful, energetic, thought-provoking, vulnerable, incredible, joyful, and appreciative life experience..and it can also feel very dark, scary and questionable...so that is why you don't have to do it alone. In fact, you shouldn't do it alone, as getting lost in the jungle of experiences can be a lot easier with a map and a guide. I am happy to provide you the support, compassion, and professional guidance to help you find your one and only unique & authentic Self.

I look forward to working with you as we redesign your life!

About My Work
My background is diverse and my training is a collection of my professional experiences as I navigated opportunities that led me to entering private practice. I began with my own life experiences, then volunteer work, then my practicums in higher education, and then a series of populations and agencies and clinics. I met many people along the way. But mostly, I learned from my clients. And for that, I am very grateful for every person that I have interacted with, even if it wasn't for long.
